For your convenience and for fastest access to all the festivities, we recommend parking at the GE plant parking lot and riding the shuttle service to the Point Mallard campground. Shuttles will run continuously from 5 PM to 11 PM on July 4. Cost is $1 each way. The GE plant parking lot is located at 2328 Point Mallard Drive SE. Along with the festivities during the Spirit of America Festival, make plans to visit the many other family fun activities in Decatur.  From an up close look at bugs at Cook’s Natural Science Museum to a splashing good time at Point Mallard Water Park, you will want to stay a few days to take it all in. Decatur is also ideally situated on the Tennessee River offering world class fishing and just a short drive away is the impressive Bankhead National Forest with its variety of hiking trails.
